This was a great conference where school librarians get a chance to network with each other and share ideals. Wed I along with 30 plus librarians arrived from Houston to Charlotte North Carolina to a warm welcome. We did have a problem locating a bit of or presentation software but we decided not to let it hold us back. We had a very friendly bus driver who gave us an impromptu tour of the city as he took us to the hotel. The hotel was standard with a welcoming sign for AASL members in the lobby. We went unloaded at the hotel and I got a chance to talk with a few local librarians along with a few from New York. Thursday I arrived bright and early, but I was informed the hard way that the free sessions did not start till 1:00 p.m. I did get a chance to speak with my mentor and program director and former program director. The Exploratorium started at 1:00 p.m. and was an area where School Librarians from across the globe got a chance to share ideals and network with each other. I have taken some of the information and have included them in the wiki. This was to me the best part of the entire conference. I got some really good ideals from school librarians of programs that worked. I took plenty of video and pictures from the event. I will post the information from them, but one that really caught my eye was a way to teach children about wikis and do some good research at the same time. The librarian used a poster board and sticky notes to allow his students to create a wiki. The Exploratorium was a great opportunity to share with other school librarians
